ahhaha, lots of what you say is interesting, but the way you put some of it reminds me of the old line-- "It's not what they don't know that worries me, it's what they do know that's wrong." Your assumption is that peoples' demand for interactivity will marginalize ACTV's scheme. Your example of interactive basketball fails because many people would rather watch the Rockets than play against their friends, or for that matter, against anyone, even interactively. How many beers can you drink and still maintain play? Your parallel with 3-D movies is realy an assertion that movies themselves will disappear in the interactive world, but we go to see (some) movies just for the message, and implicit in going to see Saving Private Ryan for example, is that we are paying for a sermon that we could not create ourselves, regardless of the power of any interactivity available now or tomorrow to mutate the story.
