Michelle, there was a time during Clinton's many faces as President that I couldn't tell his platform from the Republican platform! He stands for whatever will get his polls up! After the massacre in '94 his party suffered, he couldn't do enough for the "family value" picture that voters voted for in '94. He went along with welfare reform, abandoned his aggressive homosexual promotion, agreed to tax cuts for families, agreed to a balanced budget....all Republican initiatives that are family values issues. This guy has no back bone at all!!! If he felt he needed to abandon abortion to get himself out of this mess, he'd flip in a second. You have no issues that you can ABSOLUTELY count on him for because he will sell you out in a New York minute!!!
OTOH, Republicans do and have always stood for the same things that were promoted in their Contract With America, lower taxes, less government, stronger families....when they were in the minority and now that they are in the majority!!! To me, it's nice to know that, when I go to bed at night, my party will still be representing the same values when I get up in the morning. That's more than you can say about your President. |
