With so many doubts and issues on your mind regarding JMAR, why don't you do what any serious investor would do --- call the company and talk to the people who can really tell you how far along their technology is. They can also tell you why they didn't acquire Santa Fe Laser (as I recall, JMAR's due diligence turned up some facts that made the company "less than desirable").

>>>Why hasn't some other experienced laser manufacturer been acquired? <<<< As I understand it, they're still looking for one, but not "any old laser company" will do.

And what is this all about?: >>>JMAR has not sold laser systems for all of 1997 and 1998. In 1996, these systems accounted for some notable revenue, but JMAR has not been in the laser systems business for almost 2 years now. Why is this? How can a company be in a business, but not in the business?<<< Are you refering to the payments from the sale of Surgilase that were made from 1994 through 1996?

>>>>I don't know enough about investing and professional managers to know if it matters much, but I am having a tough time convincing myself that JMAR can deliver more than the "story". <<<<<< On second thought, maybe you'd better not call the company. Call DARPA instead, and ask them what they think about JMAR's prospects. Also, ask them if they think the $10 million or so that they've just awarded JMAR will be a "waste" because "JMAR might not be able to deliver the technology".

We'll all be awaiting your report from the DARPA call.
