It's a desperate move (a-la Cyrix commercials all over CNBC the past few months). Indicates that AMD will be demand-constrained soon. Any company losing money like AMD should not be focusing on marketing, but on improving their business model first and returning to profitability... Joey: Don't know what aspect of the business model you are talking about, but if AMD is in the x86 chip production business, have competitive products and are demand constrained it would make sense to generate sales through advertising.
