But I guess this means more dilution. Are they going to retire these shares?

Inprise Corp to buy back stock

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 21 (Reuters) - Inprise Corp. said Monday it authorized the repurchase of up to 10 percent of the software provider's common shares.

The buyback, of 5.9 million shares including the 1 million shares bought through Aug. 10, will be used to "continue to offset dilution...caused by the anticipated exercise of employee stock options.

''At current prices, we also continue to believe that the timing is right for this kind of program, and that it provides an opportunity to enhance the long term value of our current stockholders' investment in Inprise,'' Imprise said.
