Mr. Peter Goltra reports MedcomSoft has reached an agreement with Medicomp Systems Inc. of Chantilly, Virginia to integrate its Medcin Nomenclature, Search, Chart and Expert tools with MedcomSoft's MedWorks Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software. Future releases of MedWorks will be shipped with integrated Medcin functionality, allowing physicians to easily code electronic medical records, generate full narrative text in English or French and access diagnostic decision support tools from within the application. MedcomSoft has undertaken extensive research and development to add Medcin to its core DB Glue engine. Medicomp Systems, the publisher of Medcin, has worked for 20 years with practicing physicians at Cornell, Harvard, John Hopkins and other major medical centres to develop a documentation engine for use at the point-of-care. Medcin, which provides an extensive database of clinical findings with links to thousands of diagnoses, is quickly becoming a standard for the acquisition of medical information by physicians.
