Rarebird, based on the current market condition what do you think would be a reasonable PE (1999) for MO after a settlement with the states?
In a report a few months ago MO was listed as the most successfull company of the last 20 years in front of Coca Cola. Shouldn't MO be valued at least with a similar PE like KO? With a PE of 30 and earnings of 3.52$ (1999) this would make over 105$. I am just wondering about the very conservative price targets of most institutions in the range of 50-60$.
