Fieb - Absolutely no CUBE decoders in current version of Time Warner
deal. See the post of mine that you copied from AOL to this board.
I very explicitly asked a Sci Atl technical guru what chipset they
were using in the new Explorer 2000, and they said 'STM for transport
and decoding and (I don't remember what else) because they allow us
to save money (and I don't remember what else)'. They were very
explicit, and not at all uncertain. Now, this may change for
future versions of Explorer 2000, or for more advanced decoders,
but I'd say that it is a safe bet that CUBE will not be getting
any decoder revenues from this deal in the near future. (Of course
it is possible that the person I talked to was out of touch, but they
otherwise seemed very knowledgable and reliable.)
