One More Speculation:

After reading the recent press releases, here's what I think is going on:

1) US Web is attempting to pump it's stock price by announcing the end of its "domestic" acquisition spree and the possible stock buyback.

2) The statements about the end of the acquisition spree specifically refer to the "end of the domestic acquisition...". What this tells me is that there are likely some international acquisitions on the immediate horizon. This would explain the extreme (not to mention absurd) measure of announcing a stock buyback program. I highly doubt that any stock will be repurchased.

In short, look for continued creative attempts to pump the stock. Then look for more international acquisitions to continue the USWeb share printing press.

Still a better short than long ( I personally will wait for 15 for a short position, though). US Web seems much more creative at financial engineering, press release generation, and stock price manipulation than they will ever be at serving client interests.

One Man's Opinion,

Rick.
