Hi Al

From what I have hear/rumour they have shorn up all the requirements with the tailings dam. Meaning that the dyke has been strengthen and raised and they will be able to handle any further run offs. They have also been able to treat the effluent discharge to meet environmental standards. We shouldn't see a problem in this area again. I hope.

I was also told that they should have never shut down. They could have treated the discharge by running it through the mill to reduce its' toxicicity. Because they shut down they were forced to incur all the costs with start up. The BOD decided to shut the operation down because they would have been on the hook if anything happened. They decided to take a better safe than sorry attitude.

The reconstruction of the tailings dam has drained their working capital and they have insufficient funds to continue operating.

Part 2 tomorrow
