Hiram, I would certainly oppose any kind of form of 4th branch of government with unlimited power to investigate the President. However, in the independent counsel law, the charges have to approved by Attorney General and the 3-panel judges and they DID approve the all of the Starr's investigations. You can hardly say that Starr have the unlimited power to investigate everything on the President without being scrutinized It is also a tough job to investigate the President, because all eyes in the Nation are watching. When people called you names and exerted pressure on you everyday to come up anything on your investigation, it is not a good position to be in. So please don't compare the independent counsel as the 4th branch of the government, it's not. I am not completely convince if independent counsel law is right but currently it's the only way to investigate any wrong doing by a President. I watched and listened to about half of the President's video testimony. It is amazing to me that testimonies the President gave on the sex with Monica has no Yes or No answers. The prolonged answers that the President gave really just tried to de-track from the questions. The President's did not give straight answers on the sexual relationship at all. For a normal citizen, this line of testimonies wouldn't fly in the courtroom at all. Prosecutors would have pursued vigorously on those answers. Because BC is the President, he got the pass from Starr's attorneys when he was evasive. Anyone saying that the President got an unfair treatments from the Starr's attorneys should watch the video. Also, for anyone saying the President is just like us, why did he get the special treatments? Apparently the President is NOT the same as us. The President enjoys the presidential privileges and he should also be held on higher standards morally and politically because of the privileges. Eric
