It is really fun to watch real time quotes with CNBC playing on the monitor beside me. In my opinion, CNBC has more influence on the stock market in the short term than any other media outlet. CNBC understands this, which is why they kicked out Dan Dorfman when it turned out he was in cahoots with the stocks he was recommending, and it's also why all employees of CNBC are only allowed to invest in mutual funds, not individual stocks. (It's part of their contract- i know a guy who works there now as an intern)
