Joe, here's some good news:
Knowing that Go2Net/Metacrawler was a client of Zulu, and in the face of a stock price that didn't seem to support the reality, I contacted a representative, Kirby Winfield, of Go2Net. Here is his reply.
Contrary to how some would think, Zulu is alive and well. We've just got a lousy share price. Somehow, I think both ESVS and ZULU have become frozen. Specifically how and why, to me, remains unclear, plus I've already guessed a million reasons. Here's Kirby's letter:

Michael,
Sorry about the delay. Zulu still sells some advertising inventory for us, and we don't foresee our relationship with them changing significantly going forward. They do a good job.
Best,
Kirby Winfield go2net, Inc.
