Len,

Scalping has always suited my temperment. I've been quite successful at it. And my trading account is a nice, comfortable size.

500 shares was an example to address transaction costs, which was the point of my post. I wish you or others would comment on your own experiences with slippage using an EDT interface. It would increase my confidence that these systems are "ready for prime-time". BTW Baron already slapped my hand once (deservedly) for a complaint regarding the risk management side of day trading. I like his writing style and intend to take his course when I have the time.

<I should also tell you that I know a bunch of people doing very well with MB Trading and JPR, even some who are scalping>

OK what are their strategies (generally), and how do they approach risk management? There is so much random testosterone around this place, details are hard to come by.

<I just don't know what kind of preparation you've done prior to beginning trading>

Quite a bit more than you think. You're welcome to find out at my technical analysis web site The Hard Right Edge hardrightedge.com. You can also check out the book on trading I'm writing at: polartrading.com
