Anyone know if Bill said Q3 will beat estimates? I never understand what hes saying most of the time.

Saw this message.

Long term the personnel attrition will hurt. Larsen has made lots of comments about playing by the Microsoft playbook, but one thing he has forgotten is that MS hires as many bright people as money can buy, and they usually only leave because they are burnt out and ready to go into early retirement (and they usually can afford it.) NETA has a serious retention problem in comparison.

All of the new talent is coming in through acquisition, and speaking from experience they don't really value those people. That works fine for some companies, like CA, but who wants to do business with them? NETA needs a monopoly or near monopoly in order to get away with selling software without the folks to back it up, so I think they are in a race with the clock to either establish that monopoly or find a way to retain sufficient talent (read change corporate culture.)

However....I heard indirectly that the Net Tools Secure sales were better than expected for Q3. I expect that the hit we took early in the quarter when the company downgraded the estimate was a wise move, and that the numbers will actually beat the current estimates. Larsen didn't want to break that streak of consecutive quarters of beating the estimates. I'll bet it will be 1 - 3 cents/share over the street expectation.

Later....
