Keith,
>If you go back and review the thread you will >notice that the early posters are gone.
As far as early posters, I suspect they stop posting because some novelty wears off when gremmies like me take over, not necessarily because they have sold out.
>I can't tell any of you how bad I feel for getting >my friends to buy this stock when I knew they had >no business investing in any kind of RISK.
This stock WAS heavily overhyped by some posters who apparently sought high volatility. I caught the wave and bought, too.
I have a friend who has made much money smartly playing conservative stocks. He is my core inspiration for having learned about and entered the market this year.
As it happens I opened my first deep-discount account about the time internet stocks went nuts. Also, work was slow, so I took a vacation and played stocks full time for two weeks. Every day my portfolio went up 20% to 100% as I wildly daytraded the internet stock-of-the-minute. What an adrenaline rush! My last successful game was XYBR. I felt smart.
Overnight, the daytrading game shut down for me. No losses, but no gains. Fortunately, I got busy with work again and didn't have time to devote to daytrading.
I recently approached my stock market friend with my present stock favorites. He's obviously been around the block. He wasn't interested in my picks, and I never said what they were. Instead we just drank Black Russians, ate White Castles, smoked cigars, and laughed about former bosses and money.
I got lucky. I've been quite lucky this first year. I've removed my initial cash investment and am only playing free money. It's easy for me to be optimistic about these picks, about Robby racing for TCBG, about XYBRW and VLNC. I sleep well, as the money I play is truely(I like misspelling this word) speculative money. And my picks still look good.
I apologize for my optimism. O.K., I don't.
Take TCBG as a lesson, man. I've learned heaps here. If you blame TCBG and don't accept personal responsibility, you are setting yourself up to overcommit again. You are being ignorant.
TCBG still stacks up as a hot growth stock to me. It's just the time element that is unexpectedly dragging for the moment. I think your concerns are short sighted (wait a few weeks!), but you are apparently facing pressures which I presently don't have to deal with.
DELL looks like it has a secure future of growth and prosperity in my book.
Insecure and happy, Shoe. |
