What I have said before is my opinion, which does not necessarily mean I am correct.....but it is mine.

I agree with most of what you have said... the statement re: trust is where the key is. Gold may have a problem... not sure, one has to see it almost on a day to day basis.... If it gets really low, buying makes sense indeed. Otherwise, waiting and waiting.... como la novia de provincia.... la dejan toda vestida y alborotada. (like a provincial bride... she is left all dressed up and excited... but nothing !)

Trust in this, Los Estados Unidos de Norteam‚rica... is a very important point. We, los paises bicicleteros de Latino Am‚rica, depend for the most part, in our good neighbor del Norte. Until we learn to have a larger manufacturing base and get rid of our pinches pol¡ticos ratoneros, we will never be able to get up, since we seem to be always stepping on our own Moustachios, as we attempt to get up... oh well...

The world seem to still think that the USA is good to be trusted, as it appears by today's presence of Prez. Clinton in the UN, tomorrow will also be a good sign. Is that a good sign ? I do not know, but the markets will show that. Trust can not be touched or measured, an approximation would be "confidence levels" which is about the closest one can get to such measurement.

This country is a great productive machine, they are the only country in the world that is able to go from a S & L debacle that cost $500 billion dollars or so to get out of it and although at a cost, most banks are now solvent.... not a perfect world, but they are able to do it.

Try to do that in Latin America... fat chance.

Big question will be the unfunded liabilities, can they do it... I do not know, but so far they have proven to be able to do no other country has been able to achieve..... who knows.

Your approach seems reasonable.... time will tell
