Jim,
>>> IMHO, MS is planning to take market share from Quicken and add it to MS Money market share, eventually putting Intuit out of business. That is the way Bill thinks (only room for one). He leads in OS, Suite, and Browser(???). He wants home finance. His target is Intuit, not Checkfree. If he succeeds (I'm betting that he won't), CKFR will be a casualty. <<<
I disagree somewhat with your assessment of MS target. I think IBM and the mainframe OS is also an equal target. Hence the battle over the OFX standard. Also, I think that CKFR can backend for MS Money as easily as Quiken, esp. if CKFR hasthe banksand billers!
PLUS, MS would have dearly loved to hold and control the depository data and thus eventually eliminate the banks fromt the process and also as potential customers to sell added services. However, the banks were too smart for that gambit.
