Paul, ignore the media's disgraceful reporting of the battle... In June, the highest governing body of the PCUSA approved an amendment to our constitution requiring all church officers to live in "fidelity and chastity". This amendment is now being voted on by the Presbyteries (local governing bodies). The amendment is generating major controversy throughout the church because of some of the wording. My presbytery will vote in January and I expect the vote to be in favor of the amendment despite some major opposition. Whether the amendment passes or fails, the battle will continue for years to come. However, if the amendment is defeated and if our denomination continues to lean toward the left, I will probably leave. Check my profile...Grace Seminary is a sister seminary to Dallas Seminary. Temple is not the one in Philadelphia but the one in Tennessee...it is fundamentalist Baptist. Blessings to all, Tom
