But Eric, I tried to bring it back on topic. Is it true that Bill Gates can't remember a thing about Dec. 7, 1995, a day that will live in infamy, and events preceding and subsequent? That's what he testified under deposition, I hear. Those events seemed to be a major preoccupation of his at the time. His video is still in the vaults, though. Do you think he told Boies that the only purpose of that Netscape meeting was to tell Netscape about the "neat features" in Win95 they might want to use? Or did he quickly forget about that line too?
But of course, Microsoft's antitrust problems are unprecedented and totally political. The Starr "secret" grand jury proceedings, and the little right wing legal support movement for Paula Jones, that's all just blind justice at work, and the normal way Presidents get treated. Klein is a political hack, doing Clinton and Reno's bidding, while Starr is a man of the highest non-partisan integrity. Naive high school civics guy had the impression it was the other way around, but he, allegedly like Bill Gates, is politically naive, not to mention a Shirley Temple idealist. We got something in common, your Bill and me. I hope this doesn't mean I'm doomed to premature senility. If it's just deposition dependant senility, though, I can handle it. I don't get deposed much.
Cheers, Dan.
P.S. As they say in Reader's Digest, Laughter is the best Medicine. Even if it's a little bitter at times. Bwaaaaahaahahahahahahhaaa! |
