So I'd like your step-wise chronology for how an existing competitor utilizing channels, say HWP, could copy Dell Sorry to butt in. The only way I see for an existing company to move to the Dell model would be for them to aquire a company such as Gateway which has many of the same elements and then move their focus over the course of a few years to a direct company. IBM has more or less tried this by granting more than traditional autonomy on their PC business, it hasn't worked out that great so far. I think every major player has looked at this scenario already and decided that the risks are too high. TP
