Gee, perhaps according to your definition of a "great lawyer" it would behoove the lawyer to get the underlying facts and laws correct. All the "parsing" & "emotive presentations" done within the context of false premises would set the attorney up for a nice legal malpractice suit.

I guess I can see by that statement why you are no longer lawyering. If I go to my personal attorney with, let's say, a securities fraud case, I can assure you that he is going to send me to the best securities law specialist he knows. Although he is a fine general legal practitioner, he obviously does not know the intricacies of Securities litigation and therefore would be professionally remiss if he took the case himself. It's incredulous that you would say the attorney's background in the relevant law is not important.
