Looks like today will be a battle between the MO bulls and bears, but a weak one, as volume looks weak and so does the movement on the stock price (flat). It seems that the settlement will indeed end up being what propels MO to higher ground. Anyone notice that MO's short position jumped from 9MM shares to over 18MM shares over the last month? Hopefully that will make the settlement news all the better, to have an accompanying short squeeze!

If we hold these levels despite the weaker volumes, I'd wager that many people don't want to sell anymore at 47-8, that they're expecting MO to climb above its all-time high. No real downside movement on weak volume is typically a good sign, especially when near the all time highs, right?

And so the wait goes on for news re: the settlement...
