I'm kinda parcel to Mushkin PC 100 sdram though because of the quality of the Lite-On PCB (according to Anand).

Dave, I am also an Anand devotee, but I want to mention something that has been bothering me of late. I have begun to rely heavily on his recommendations, and actually got burned real bad on one mobo that I got, based on his recommendation. Then, I started to think more about it, and have a few ideas I'd like to open up for discussion, if anyone's interested.

I read an article once that said this (at the time) 15 year old guy made $30K his first year in operation, all from advertisers. While I certainly wouldn't accuse him of favoring his advertisers, I have never seen him give a truly negative review. I wonder why that is. For instance, all his motherboards and RAM seem to come to him free, or perhaps for the cost of a link to the vendor's site. If he was paying for these things, why would he thank each individual vendor by way of links at the end of each review? I can't help but think he's using some kind of trade-out on the things he reviews.

Having said that, it doesn't automatically mean that there is some kind of quid pro quo going on, but it makes me suspect. And the fact that you never see him (at least I haven't seen any) give any truly negative reviews makes me wonder further.

I'm open to other opinions. Anyone?

Len
