I suspect that yesterday's and today's action is related to Ligand's presentation tomorrow at Bear Stearns (at 2:45 in the East Foyer until 3:15 for the presentation and 3:15 to 3:45 at Park Avenue South for the Breakout session). The conference is at the Waldorf Astoria (maybe the press covering the economic meeting know a good deal when they here one :-)).
