Paul,

As you are aware it does not matter what the voltage is wether it is 1.5, 1.8 or 2.2V. The key is the chips run at 300Mhz and they dissapate 6.6Watts typical. This is same as Intels typical power consumption.

You always want to distort the facts when it comes to Intel vs AMD/Cyrix.

The facts are that AMD is rapidly gaining market share.
The fact is that AMD is being supported by folks like IBM/Compaq.
The fact is that with the fab churning out 4-5M CPU's per quarter that
Intel is rapidly losing marketshare.
The fact is that with AMD's ramp to 350 and soon to be 400 Mhz earliy in Q4 Intel's speed sweet spot will be hurting in Q4 98.
The fact is that with AMD shipping a k6-2 300 with a 100Mhz bus for mobile apps they will be AHEAD of intel in perfomance and price.
The facts are that at a run rate of 4-5 M pcs/qtr the fab 25 will be running at capacity and therefore profitability will be much higher.

As an investment AMD looks great right now and they may even be profitable in Q3.

There will be a significant ramp up in the price soon.

We ain't seen nothing yet
