Roy do you have a source (Gate's book ?) excluding the $150 mln ? The $150mln investment was reported in EDGAR but I have never seen the patent settlement payment (now $250mln ?) amount or schedule . AAPL's cash increased about $200 mln per quarter in FY '98 . Alomex is looking at it differently but I see a review of the contract as timely and beneficial to shareholders . MSFT's DOJ 10/15/98 trial appearance along with AAPL's submission of evidence supporting MST's predatory stance before AAPL's 8/97 settlement suggests the contract may come under review for evidence also . Amelio's later comments also suggest it may have been one-sided but do not know if the new book on Gates is factual . It suggests some under-handed dealing which may cause the DOJ to disregard a review. Any info would be helpful . Regards, Jim K.
