As they say - Sh*t happens. IMO the OJ case should have been an open and shut case - but there was an argument that the police screwed up and were not sufficiently professional.

Letting someone get away with something - if it will lead to a more professional law enforcement establishment may not be a complete loss.

Just as you imply, many people share your view and would like to seem him "get away with it".

But, the process continues. It will have to play out. He may not have to resign or be impeached - but I doubt he will go "scot free". He could still be indicted after he leaves office and there are at least two civil suites (Paula Jones - Dorothy Browning - sp?) pending. Then, there are the legal fees, the shame, and the lost prestige. He may forever be remembered receiving oral sex and parsing sentences about what is "is" and about being on the receiving end rather the manipulating end and what that means by his definition of sex. Many people wouldn't be able to tell you what he did as President - put almost everyone will know how he defines sex.

He could have had a great Presidency - but that is gone forever. How much is that worth? Is that punishment?

May be in Iraq and in North Korea - you could go "scot free" - but not in the United States.
