MORE WAY OFF TOPIC --
Other officers in the armed forces are thrown out for adultery. He is the commander in chief, so in a democracy, why should he not be held to the same standards?
Active duty military personnel serve under a specific code of conduct. The president is commander in chief under the Constitution, but he or she (one day!) is not active military.
Goodness, as we have seen recently, it is clear that no party has cornered the market on adultery/fornication. I am still laughing at Rep. Hyde's "youthful indiscretion" at age 41 (while in public office)! That man is an optimist. Good for him.
Memories are so short. Surely I am not the only one who remembers Ronnie on TeeVee swearing to us up and down that there was no such thing as arms for hostages. Oops! Then, his mea culpa speech in which he took full responsibility -- but saw no need to resign. Ultimately, someone had to take the fall for Iran/Contra, so they pinned it on Caspar Weinberger and he was indicted. Bush, of course, pardoned him in order to put the sordid affair behind us. Yeah, right.
Perjury has a specific legal meaning/implication and has always been notoriously difficult to prove. Therefore, I look forward to the Republican House charging Clinton under the omnibus racketeering act (RICO). I do hope they impeach him because that action will return to bite Congress on the ass!
