Do we still consider China an "avowed enemy"? I would hope not.

And the real issue in the Iran/Contra affair was less the sale of the missiles than the purpose of using the proceeds to fund a war which had been expressly de-funded by Congress. Whatever you think of the relative merit of the goals involved, this does constitute a direct attempt to subvert the separation of powers which stands at the core of the entire political system.

And they all lie, why are we making such a big deal of it now? Yes, he got caught. If you subjected every member of Congress to the same level of scrutiny, by the time you finished you'd be lucky to have a quorum for the gang of four.

As always, hypocrisy reigns.
