Deflation? What deflation? The intrinsic deflation of the last era? That era ended 9/1/98. No matter where I look, I can't find lower prices. Wages are rising in excess of 4% while productivity is flat. Diane Is quite correct about California real estate. The low end is rising at a stable 6%. The FED is pumping without precedent. Daily outright purchases. I guess they're concerned about deflation even though the money supplies are exploding. Who's deflation? Japan's?

This can't be good news, but no one cares:

NEW YORK, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Publisher Dow Jones & Co. said Tuesday its 1999 national advertising rates for The Wall Street Journal will rise 4.2 percent.

No one cares because the mind set from good times is that it is easy to pass along the increased costs. We can afford it. Thank you, FED.
