On the weekend I said I had gotten confirmation from Monsanto that they are not currently in any negotiations at all with AZNT over anything, nor intend to be in the future. Their feeling is that if AZNT hasn't lifted a finger to do a single study proving ToN has a prayer of getting FDA approval as a sweetener then why should they even give it a second thought? Monsanto was to have faxed me a letter by today stating that in writing but for whatever reason has not yet done so. Just to make things clear, the letter was my idea. The person I talked to there, Etienne Veber, told me he realized he might get many calls from people for the first few days after I posted his name and number on the internet, but that he didn't mind. I figured a letter would short-circuit people posting "that's not what he told me" posts. Well, I guess we'll find out. Veber replaced Norman Jangaard who is now no longer with Monsanto.
