And I listened to the call again to make sure that I was
not smoking something bizarre when I listened to it earlier and
that the value of the deal was indeed worth "several hundreds of
millions of dollars":

at around the 6:20 minute mark MOT was asked a question about
"the value of the deal and how it was structured".

And the answer was : "We are not going to be specific about the value of the deal but I would say obviously Starfish was very close to an IPO with about a 100 people and some good sales. This is in the order of several hundreds of millions of dollars as a deal..."

If anyone thinks I am making all this up, again, check this link out:
events.broadcast.com

and fast forward to the 6 minute mark and listen for 1 minute (or less).

I'll have to check this but I think Inprise had something around
10% of Starfish and so it is worth quite a bit to Mr. Inprise - a bonafide gift from the ex-CEO <g>.

Maybe Inprise did indeed get a fair bit of MOT stock. Hopefully they
did not sell all of it already. Doesn't anyone want to have
some connection to the stable land of chip stocks? <ggg>

Shane.
