large caches Intel is Contemplating up to 2 MegaByte L2 caches - ON CHIP - on some of its high end processors for next year. Cool, then Linux could run totally in cache! cs.byuh.edu Technically, Linux will run with only 2 megs, Now if you could turn off the cache part, you don't even need external memory anymore. :-)
