Mississippi ETV Goes DTV WithAcrodyne! September 23, 1998 08:58 AM

BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 1998--Acrodyne Communications, Inc. ACRO , a leading manufacturer of television
transmitters for 30 years, announces that the delivery, installation and proof of performance has been completed of an Acrodyne AuD-2S Solid
State 2000W DTV Transmitter in Jackson, Mississippi for the Mississippi Authority for ETV.

The transmitter performance measurements exceed the requirements of the FCC for the spectral mask with "considerable margin." Acrodyne
engineering also recorded EVM measurements of 5% or less and SNR of 25dB or greater. This accomplishment was achieved with relative
ease as a result of the years of cooperation between Acrodyne engineers and the engineers at Zenith who developed the 8VSB modulation
system.

Three new orders for DTV equipment reflect the various options Acrodyne has to offer. Mississippi ETV will use the Acrodyne AuD-2S UHF DTV
transmitter to begin over the air tests in September. Midstate Television Inc. has purchased a VHF, channel 12 solid state 500W DTV
transmitter for WMFD-DT. Delivery is scheduled for the fall.

In other new DTV business, KCPT, the PBS affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri has purchased Acrodyne Adjacent Channel Technology
(ACT(tm)) to take advantage of their adjacent DTV channel assignment from the FCC. The transmitter, configured for N-1 (NTSC channel 19 and
DTV channel 18), will broadcast 60kW analog and 3kW digital output power.

KBLR-TV, Las Vegas, NV, completes installation of its ACT(tm) transmission system this winter. The station will broadcast on channel 39
NTSC and 40 DTV. The Acrodyne ACT(tm) is the only transmitter capable of transmitting N+1 channel configuration.

A. Robert Mancuso, President and CEO of Acrodyne, commented, "We are extremely pleased with the performance of our DTV and ACT(tm)
transmitters and the feedback we have received from our customers. We continue to receive orders for our products and with the recent
completion of Acrodyne's new financing arrangements, we are confident of our position and continued ability to participate in the future events of
the industry."
