Ericsson informs about quality problems regarding certain mobile phones

Ericsson wishes to inform about quality problems regarding the Company's
mobile phones and makes the following statement.

The problems relate to earlier production. All quality problems have been
corrected in the new production series. Despite this, there still may be
phones with faults, which may appear after some time.

Ericsson ensures that customers are affected as little as possible and faults
are corrected free of charge. This means that Ericsson replaces batteries and
either repairs components or replaces them depending on the type of fault.
These steps have been in force for some time and have been taken at no cost to
the customer and with disregard for the guarantee time.

The problems have occurred mainly in the Swedish market where the products
were released earlier than in other markets.

The corrective actions, which have been taken, have ensured that the phones
function correctly. Ericsson has also an extensive and strengthened service
organisation in order to provide the best possible service to our customers.

Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their
combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom
systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications.
