Sand Technology Systems International Inc. announced that The Nucleus
Exploration software solution, integrated within Hitachi Data Systems'
(HDS) Intelligent Storage Subsystem has been named on the DM Review "Data
Warehouse 100" list. Ranking No. 42 on the initial "Data
Warehouse 100" list illustrates the momentum and customer acceptance
Nucleus is gaining in the market for its unique capabilities in allowing
business organizations to rapidly answer their most complex, ad hoc,
analytical and exploratory queries.
"With its appearance on the "Data Warehouse 100" list, our readers
have affirmed the value of the Nucleus solution for answering critical
business questions in an easy, cost-effective manner," said Ron Powell,
publisher of DM Review. "Whether Nucleus is implemented as a generic
software implementation or bundled within a solution such as the recognized
HDS Intelligent Storage Subsystem, Nucleus is quickly becoming an important
technology on business users' shopping lists."
The DM Review magazine "Data Warehouse 100" was determined based on
the results of a product usage and vendor rating survey conducted over the
Web among readers by Market Perspectives Inc. Survey respondents were
presented an extensive list of 443 products in 13 different data
warehousing product categories. The survey was conducted over the Internet
resulting in 624 completed questionnaires. The top 100 vendors were chosen
based on a two stage weighting process that made calculated adjustments for
the following factors: (a) the rating scores for each product, (b) the
number of sites reporting use of the product and, (c) the number of
products in a given product category, (d) the number of categories in which
a vendor participated.
"The HDS storage subsystem coupled with our Nucleus Exploration
software has proven to deliver extraordinary ROI to the business enterprise
for use in enhanced business analysis that has never been seen before
within diverse operational organizations," said Kevin Horigan, Executive
Vice President, Sand. "We are very honored to receive this award and it is
very rewarding to see that the readers of DM Review recognize the value of
this bundled solution."
