I try to pay attention to the rapidly changing industry of data storage/internet bandwidth to see what sector Ampex will be able to provide needed equipment/expertise. As I have stated many times, their equipment (DST) is of such high-performance caliber, they have yet to find a mass market that requires the astonishing speed and capacity. Yet we have seen some sales to news organizations to organize their media content. I think once the bandwidth problem is increased to levels sufficient to support real-time video streaming, we'll see Ampex as a major player. It will be interesting to see what the next acquisition will involve- that will be a clue as to the direction they are heading in, as well as the market they are focusing in (in a more detailed way).
