Although you're right about Troop's response, it still leaves me feeling uneasy. I do not see specifics regarding what Novell intends to buy and why. (ref the 1 bil usage statement). I do not see what a CEO should do for Novell, but just a trust me request and I will let you know. This search also seems too long. If the Novell vision cannot be constructed without a CEO, the board should have kept Frankenberg until the time they found what they wanted. If the board has a definite vision, then the new CEO must be their vision implementer. We should know what the vision is and who (type) should fit it. The the investment of the 1 bil could be used to enhance the vision implementation using it to acquire x, y, z firms (again, type of firm).
All in all, it seems as if there is a personality contest going on and customers and we are holding the bag. That is why I think these people should be given their exit.
Sorry for the long response!
