Paul:

Diebold has been the most fun and rewarding drip I've owned. It has split twice since 1994, and I would not be surprised if the company announces another split in January. The price has a lot of volatility, in fact you missed an opportunity a couple of weeks ago when it pulled back to $55. But you are right, all that price fluctuation works wonders with dollar cost averaging. I wouldn't wait, there's no time like the present and no one knows what will happen in the future.

I would have never made the natural gas/vinyl windows connection. Very interesting! What do you think of CMS Energy? It's the local gas provider here and they do offer direct investment. I haven't looked much at the gas utilities, but I believe there are better options available. I'll have to check out Questar.
