Hello:

First time posting on this thread. Linda, I am a Mac User also and for a time used the DBC feed via satellite into the PC side of my Mac. I have an Orange Micro Card for it. The software I used for the quotes was Ensign cause I like the charting.

After quite a bit of time with their tech support, I was told that any Mac running any kind of PC stuff would be too slow to handle the data. I had crashes, loss of quotes, all kinds of problems and sometimes loss of money because of it.

I have a PPC 9600 running at 300 mhz. I have not tried the G3, but been told that they are wonderful. I use my Mac now for my online stuff during the market, and a CPQ for my data. I installed ISDN and can do it all on one phone line. Its great. On the PC side of my Mac, I have all of my end of day stuff. I make my charts at night and can refer to them all during the day by pressing control-return.

Your situation sounds like it may be different. I was most surprised to find that I can now get ISDN from GTE for $39.00 per month unlimited. I do have to pay more for my ISP on an ISDN line...which is $39.95 per month. In your area, all of that may be different as well.

Just thought I'd share my nightmare and anything to do with DBC from reliability to billing to dealing with my Mac was a nightmare.

Mary
