<<Take for example, a normal child being raised by retarded parents>>

You will always be able to find exceptions to any generalization. However, that doesn't make the generalization less valid. IMHO, it is generally true that a child raised by both parents will be better able to deal with the world outside the home, since they have examples of both male and female behavior and interaction. They will also see dispute resolution, and will form their opinions on the appropriate role of men and women based on how those roles are handled at home. The parents will also be better able to provide the love and guidance a child needs, since the tasks will be shared.

I could go on, but I know you get the idea.

<<Better for the RR to say that everybody has the potential to be a good parent, or parents, and support some children first legislation, and leave it at that imo.>>

As regards legislation, we agree. However, I have no problem with the RR pointing out how they think people could do a better job of parenting. I also have no problem with a liberal doing the same. I just frown on the use of force or legislation to get the job done.
