No asterisk. It's just like when Wills set the stolen base record in 1962. He was able to pad his record in a three game playoff with the Giants (which the Dodgers lost).

I presume you say "another asterisk" because of the big asterisk that will note the fact that McGwire would have the record all to himself if Boob Davidson could see.
