To be honest, I don't have any positions on CMGI as of now.
However, I am going short on all internet stocks.
Years ago, when memory companies were hot, MU, ISSI, ALSC, PRDM all flied to unrealistic levels. And then it was hard drive companies, APM, RDRT, WDC, SEG, QNTM, IOM... eventually tanks. Later, it was dsp chip companies' turn, CUBE, OAKT, ESST, ... you know where they are now.
Even equipment companies could not avoid the unavoidable, AMAT, NVLS, SVGI, ASMLF, LRCX, CYMI, IPEC... all divide by more than four.
The most recent ones are Y2k companies, ALYD, TAVA, PTUS, ZITL, VIAS, CSGI... you name it.
There are no reasons to believe that the internet companies can sustain at today's ridiculous level. I am thinking short on all of them, but would short with hedged positions.
It will pay and pay very nicely from the short side. IMHO. |
