Good Evening to All,
Nancy, I agree completely with your assessment. As in baseball speak, we are in the very first innings of the focus on embedded chips and this game will last well beyond 2000.
I have been very impressed with the due diligence of the TAVA mgmt, they maintain focus on the long term perspective, which in these days of instant gratification may seem archane but will payoff in kudos.
In the process industry, we are talking about clients putting their life blood on the line when they contemplate changes to their systems on the factory floor. Outages in nonrealtime systems rarely lead to any economic consequences. In the world of the process industry, even VERY SMALL outages in their realtime control systems can have large economic consequences from the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. It could lead to no product, a defective product or worse, a safety issue!!! Thats why process system integrators like TAVA tend to be conservative in their outlook and the way they express themselves.
It is this deliberative conservatism and cautious planning that is enabling TAVA to ensure quality and gain the trust in the process industry that has led to master contracts with large corporations and alliances with prestigious partners. As far as I am concerned, with the obstacles process control system integrators face, TAVA has been moving at lighting speed!!!.
TAVA is not a Y2k company. It is a process systems integrator. It began its transformation from Topro to TAVA through restructuring and acquistions in a highly fragmented industry. TAVA has had the vision and concientiousness to address the Y2k issues aggressively and in so doing has gained the attention and trust of top mgmnt in large national and multinational corporations to aid them in areas where the stakes are high. And as if this wasn't enough, such a short time after their restructuring, they have a growing profitability trend!
So some are saying they missed by one cent, others say they did not, others say they beat estimates OF ONE QUARTER! You know, sometimes you can miss the forest for the trees.
Please excuse the long post.
Best Wishes, Patricia
