How Good Are Server Uptime Guarantees?
internetwk.com
HP this month announced a 99.9 percent uptime guarantee for customers that buy clusters of two Xeon-based NetServer servers and a contract with HP for service. HP said it will refund a month's free service for any customer whose server has unplanned downtime more than 0.1 percent of the year, or 8.75 hours. A typical service contract will start at about $60,000 per year. The guarantee covers only the operating system and hardware, not the applications and network-although HP says it is working toward providing end-to-end availability guarantees of "six nines," or 99.9999 percent.

They will only refund one month. What kind of guarantee is that. They should refund the whole contract. They priced in the one month extra fee to cover the crash which is guaranteed to happen.
Maybe they should throw in a picture of Bill G. :-).
