High Priest: K6 did outperform the Pentium and Pentium Pro. It was the fastest X86 CPU running Windows95 at the time AMD introduced the chip. Intel regained the lead with PII a month later. AMD fought back with the K6-2 and topped PII in 3D performance but still trailing under Winstone and NT benchmark.
