GZ:
Meet you in the darndest places!
Although, I am a registered Democrat with conservative leanings I am also a Vietnam vet. While I was vacationing in Da Nang, Clinton was warming his hands over our burning flag in Moscow -- so I have never been fond of Clinton, and have never voted for him. He is man without honor. However, after listening to the last 45 minutes of that tape even I was beginning to feel his pain. Some thing should remain private.
Before the tape release there was so much false box-office hype expressed by the liberal members of the committee -- Barney Fife (who may have lent Clinton one of his training aids, the Havana cigar), good old Charlie Rangle, etc., all professing how disgraceful and damaging the video was -- why I expected XXX-plus with sins I'd never heard of. Alas, like a low budget R-rated movie, nothing new to the "American People" who can read. I was left with one burning question, how much did Coke paid for the in-flight commercial?
Now you are correct on conviction and the nature of the crime. But, is it possible that the Lewinsky issue may be Act 1, of a tragedy? Is a first act designed as an attention grabber? Starr has seriously tainted Clinton's veracity -- to "impeach" does not always involve charges against the impeached, but it seriously degrades all testimony. What will subsequent releases reveal concerning more serious matters?
Clinton is unworthy. If we defend him, by inference we condone his behavior. Recast with Ozone Al in the lead -- but then I always preferred him anyway.
