Hi Peter and all:

I'm delighted to find this thread. My hubby and I are avid Lionel and Mike's Train House and K-Line Collectors. My dream is to make enough in the market to set up our own train store.

An earlier remark of how train collectors collect anything related to trains. This hobby has led to our now collecting Ertl farm toys, etc.

And now I'm collecting railroadiana on the Illinois Central, B&O, Wabash, and Pennsy. I also collect oil and gas memorabilia.

We live in Ft Wayne, IN and have a lot of activity from Norfolk Southern. I love the remark of how they block crossings. There has been a lot of talk about that in the media here. And I bought him some Norfolk Southern stock for his birthday before the split.

In our new home, under construction, hubby is getting a 40 ft. train room to build his dream layout. Since we are doing this slowly, it may be a couple of years before it is all together.

He is also a member of our Summit City Lines Club--modular traveling layout, Lionel Collectors Club, and National Model Railroaders Associaton.

Peter, if Lionel goes public, that is one IPO I will buy.

What a nice thread for sharing about the hobby. I'm glad I found it. I'm enjoying some of the links.

Mary
