There is still some prospect the investors will get something back but suspicion is it will be on the order of 10%. Merriweather himself, and the other members of LTC, have lost all their capital. So they will lose more than the investors.

As I understand it the infusion is needed to meet margin calls. But it is not exchange margin calls but calls from the very banks making the loans. So all it really is is an accounting exercise, I believe, as it changes from debt to equity. But the details are still fuzzy and as I am not an investor (yippee) I am not sure 100% how it will work.
